Summit Education Initiative (SEI) has announced the names of 20 individuals who will represent the first cohort of CLASS Act Scholars of Summit County through May 2018. CLASS Act Scholars is a new program that combines the Classroom Assessment Scoring System® (CLASS®) with free coaching, mentoring and professional development for a group of educators working in Summit County preschools. Generous funding from GAR Foundation, GPD Group Employees’ Foundation and PNC Foundation will support CLASS Act Scholars’ pilot year and beyond. Find out who was selected in this post.
Registration for the 2017 School Readiness Summit on Oct. 27 is open and organizers are hoping to attract an even bigger crowd of child advocates than last year. More than 530 caring adults convened at John S. Knight Center last October for the first summit, which featured active discussions on preparing children for success in school and life.
