StriveTogether event to draw community, education and nonprofit leaders from around the country
Summit Education Initiative (SEI) will be the change for students in Summit County during a national convening in Phoenix, Ariz, this Oct. 3 through Oct. 5.
Continuing SEI’s work to help all students in Summit County, some staff members will join more than 400 community leaders from across the country for the 2017 StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network Convening, Be the Change: Getting Results for Every Child.
For the convening, SEI was selected to present its groundbreaking Cradle to Career Experience, which has been so favorably received in Summit County. Surrounding communities – even as far as Atlanta, Georgia – have requested Cradle to Career Experience presentations as well.
Throughout the Convening, SEI will not only be inspired to continue work throughout the community, but also to share and learn from other partnerships throughout the country.
The StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network brings together cross-sector leaders who are committed to improving educational outcomes for kids. Representing 70 community partnerships in 32 states and Washington, D.C., attendees at the sold-out event will share their work to unite communities around shared goals and measurable results in education.
“Over the next five years, the StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network will work relentlessly across systems and sectors to get better results for every child,” StriveTogether interim CEO Jennifer Blatz said. “To be the change needed in our communities, we must boldly pursue whatever it takes to identify and close gaps in opportunity and achievement. Our eighth annual convening will give SEI staff both inspiration and concrete steps for creating better systems of support that truly benefit every child, cradle to career.”
During the Convening, attendees will engage in sessions and workshops around building a culture of continuous improvement, eliminating disparities, engaging the community, improving outcomes and leveraging existing assets.
