PNC Bank Sponsors School Readiness Summit

Summit Education Initiative (SEI) appreciates the support we receive from local businesses and organizations in Summit County. We thank PNC Bank for becoming the presenting sponsor of “The Early Childhood Effect: School Readiness Summit,” which will occur this October at the John S. Knight Center.

GUG_4COur Summit County First Things First partners hope this half-day event will help increase awareness about the importance of early childhood experiences to a child’s future. Through content sessions and interactive, collaborative discussions, we hope attendees learn ways to better serve Summit County children ages 0 to 8 years old.

Through Grow Up Great®, its signature cause that began in 2004, PNC has created a $350 million, multi-year initiative to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life by focusing on readiness in vocabulary development, math, science, financial education and the arts. Through these grants to nonprofit organizations, the program has impacted approximately 2.3 million children throughout 19 states and the District of Columbia. PNC employees have also volunteered more than 575,000 hours and donated more than 825,000 classroom items to help make PNC’s vision a reality.

Registration to the School Readiness Summit opened in late June. To register, click this link. You may visit SEI’s website or First Things First’s website for more details about the summit.
