Out of School Time Partners Gain New Leadership

The following is a message from Summit Education Initiative Executive Director Derran Wimer. It appears in the August 2017 “Align & Engage” e-newsletter.

I am very pleased to share that Cristina González Alcalá, Summit Education Initiative (SEI)’s Research Associate, is assuming responsibilities for coordinating all of our work and partnerships with our Out of School Time Partners (OSTPs).

Most of our OSTP friends recognize Cristina as the point person for the OSTP Portal and the Youth View® Survey. While maintaining most of her responsibilities as our research associate, Cristina will also reach out to OSTPs to deepen our engagement; facilitate our quarterly OSTP meetings; and promote our shared mission of graduating prepared, passionate and persistent students who have a plan to be enrolled, employed or enlisted.

We also wish the best for Phil Martucci, who has decided to leave his College Attainment Team Strategy Leader role with SEI. I will assume Phil’s responsibilities moving forward.

Looking ahead, if we truly believe that EVERY student must be successful to increase the regional prosperity of Summit County, then the power of alignment and collaboration must move from potential energy to kinetic energy!
