To better promote college and career readiness for students in Summit County, Summit Education Initiative (SEI) created a new Middle Grades Network (MGN) for school administrators, school counselors and math teachers. The network, which will meet four times this school year, kicked off the year at Quaker Square on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

“This is our first year together, but SEI is very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead,” says Senior Research Associate Dr. Matt Deevers. “We will focus our work on student success, career awareness, school climate, student motivation and mathematics.”

The September meeting also incorporated a Math Teachers’ Circle activity to see simple and complex math in new ways.
