Critical Transition Point Projects Receive Funding

Recent contributions benefit Summit County students, from cradle to career

Summit Education Initiative (SEI) appreciates the support we receive from foundations, local businesses and organizations in Summit County. We thank Medical Mutual of Ohio, OMNOVA Solutions Foundation and Welty Family Foundation for their most recent financial contributions to SEI. All three entities support the projects SEI initiates at the six critical transition points along the Cradle to Career continuum.

From organizing community-centered group meetings to promote the importance of school readiness, to supporting programs focused on building literacy skills that ultimately increase the likelihood students will meet with success later in life, SEI initiates simultaneous projects that benefit Summit County students along the entire educational track. As the work at each critical transition point builds on the success of students at future points, academic performances measured along the entire Cradle to Career continuum are significant to the health and prosperity of our community.

This year, SEI has begun hosting the Cradle to Career Experience at different businesses and organizations in Greater Akron to help individuals understand the effects of interventions in classrooms to help children achieve higher educational attainment and reach personal prosperity.
