New Housing Is Clearinghouse Links Housing, Health and Education

The following is a press release from the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) that announces the launch of Housing Is, a clearinghouse that links housing, health and education to build partnerships and improve lives. Ohio Statehouse Hosts College Affordability Briefing on Feb. 9

As a result of an affordability paper the Higher Education Compact of Greater Cleveland authored last fall, Summit Education Initiative (SEI) joined a statewide group with Philanthropy Ohio to launch an effort to increase college affordability in Ohio. On Feb. 9, Philanthropy Ohio will host a briefing on College Affordability in Ohio and how college costs impact the future of Ohio (and of our community). Critical Transition Point Projects Receive Funding

Family Reading Festival Celebrates 10 Years

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Family Reading Festival, an event that welcomes families to the Akron-Summit County Public Library (ASCPL) in early February to enjoy literacy-themed activities with other community members. Because reading can open doors to increased opportunities for learning, particularly for children, focusing on the importance of literacy among families benefits the community and the futures of its residents.
