Summit Education Initiative (SEI) has announced the names of 20 individuals who will represent the first cohort of CLASS Act Scholars of Summit County through May 2018. CLASS Act Scholars is a new program that combines the Classroom Assessment Scoring System® (CLASS®) with free coaching, mentoring and professional development for a group of educators working in Summit County preschools. Generous funding from GAR Foundation, GPD Group Employees’ Foundation and PNC Foundation will support CLASS Act Scholars’ pilot year and beyond. Find out who was selected in this post.

Continuing SEI’s work to help all students in Summit County, some staff members will join more than 400 community leaders from across the country for the 2017 StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network Convening, Be the Change: Getting Results for Every Child. To better promote college and career readiness for students in Summit County, Summit Education Initiative (SEI) created a new Middle Grades Network (MGN) for school administrators, school counselors and math teachers. The network, which will meet four times this school year, kicked off the year at Quaker Square on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
